My name is Brittany Hopkins Switlick, and I help teams get out of their own way by sharing how to transform reactive habits into new possibilities.

WORKSHOP: React Less, Empower More: Intentional Communication at Work

In today’s high-stakes, fast-paced work environments, reactive habits can erode trust, derail collaboration, and compromise outcomes.

This experiential workshop introduces *The Empowerment Dynamic® (TED), a framework that helps professionals recognize unproductive patterns—like blame, avoidance, and over-functioning—and shift toward empowered roles: Creator, Challenger, and Coach. Participants engage with real-world workplace scenarios, guided self-reflection, and structured practice to walk away with actionable tools for more effective, resilient communication.

Why It Matters

This session tackles the interpersonal strain, miscommunication, and emotional fatigue that are increasingly common across industries—from corporate teams and client services to healthcare and frontline leadership. Based on research in positive psychology, coaching, and behavioral science, TED* offers a practical and immediately applicable alternative to reactivity.
Brittany is a fresh and engaging facilitator for anyone seeking practical tools to live authentically.

"After people hear me speak, they feel more connected to themselves and the world around them because my talk gives them the tools to quiet self-doubt, break free from reactive habits, and create intentional daily actions that align with their values and goals."

This session is:

  • Current – Addresses common workplace challenges such as burnout, team dysfunction, and disengagement.
  • Practical – Goes beyond abstract leadership theory to offer repeatable strategies and conversation tools.
  • Evidence-Based – Grounded in David Emerald’s Empowerment Dynamic®, rooted in neuroscience, coaching psychology, and behavioral frameworks.
  • Scalable – Simple enough to embed into 1:1s, project teams, team charters, and leadership development programs.

The Promise

💡 By the end of this workshop, participant will be able to:
  • Learn to identify reactive patterns (Victim, Persecutor, Rescuer) in real time.
  • Understand the cognitive and emotional toll of drama-based dynamics.
  • Practice pivot tools that turn defensiveness into curiosity, blame into ownership, and tension into growth.
  • Develop a personal “Drift and Shift” protocol to use during high-pressure interactions.
  • Leave with a repeatable framework for fostering psychological safety and outcome-focused dialogue in their teams as a Creator, Challenger, or Coach.

You’ll feel more connected to yourself—and to the world around you—because you’ll have practical tools to quiet that inner critic, break free from reactive habits, and create daily actions that align with your values and goals.

This topic gives teams the tools to adapt to and thrive in a world that’s becoming increasingly fast-paced, uncertain, and emotionally charged.

Formats Available

This session is available in the following formats:
  • 60-minute keynote or lunch-and-learn
  • 3-hour team offsite module
  • 6-hour deep dive (ideal for leadership teams, HR cohorts, or professional development days)

Why Get Out of Your Way: Harness Your Inner Critic to Create New Possibilities?

1. Increased Mental Health Challenges
The rise of anxiety, stress, and self-doubt is a global issue, especially post-pandemic. Many of us struggle with an overactive inner critic that exacerbates these challenges, leading to burnout, imposter syndrome, and feelings of inadequacy. This message provides actionable tools to harness that inner critic—the ego, and foster self-compassion.

2. The Desire for Meaning and Purpose
With shifting societal norms, the Great Resignation, and a re-evaluation of work-life balance, people crave more meaningful lives. This workshop helps your teams connect with their values and purpose, offering a practical way to navigate this transition.

3. Reactive Culture and Polarization
In an era dominated by social media, news cycles, and constant reactive behaviors, this workshop addresses how to pause, reflect, and respond intentionally. It teaches people how to step out of reactive patterns and into constructive, purposeful actions—which is essential for personal relationships and societal challenges.

4. Challenges Facing Young Adults
For many people self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and pressure to "have it all figured out" are pervasive. The tools shared for navigating the dance between inner critic and wise adult self will help them gain clarity, build confidence, and feel more connected to their authentic selves during stressful situations.

5. The Push for Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligence is increasingly valued in workplaces and communities as people recognize its role in effective communication, leadership, and personal growth. This talk equips audiences with practical tools for greater self-awareness and intentional action, directly contributing to improved emotional intelligence.
